WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for the following questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? To participate, make a post or comment answering the three questions, link up to the host (Sam)’s post, and check out what others are reading and talking about! I typically participate once a month, approximately in the middle of the month, as a halfway check-in on my monthly reading goals.

6 Degrees of Separation: from Older Nonfiction to a New Middle-Grade Adventure

Today's post participates in #6DegreesofSeparation hosted by Kate at booksaremyfavouriteandbest. The gist is that everyone starts with the same book, then finds another book that relates to it somehow, then one that relates to the second, until you’ve got a chain of six additional books. It’s a twist on the theory that every person on earth can somehow be connected to any other person in six or fewer steps, and provides an opportunity to talk about random books we love (or don’t).

Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag

July in Oklahoma doesn't usually come with high humidity. But this is 2021, so just about anything that can happen apparently will, including humidity levels so high that even indoors it is having an impact on our books. I'm pretty sure that in June we got more rain than every other June of my life combined, and even though the temperatures are finally climbing close to their normal range for this time of year, we are not as dry as usual. If the northwest would like to send the 100+ temperatures back down to us, I wouldn't be opposed as long as it moved the humidity along and made the air feel less heavy.

Wrapping Up June 2021

According to Goodreads, I am two books behind schedule for the amount of books I said I want to read this year. The end of June means we're halfway through the year, and ought to be at least halfway to any year-long reading goals set in January. Are you close to your goals, reading or otherwise?

June TBR & Goals

Do I dare try to set a TBR list for this month? Usually, my reading picks up a bit with the summer, but this year I actually don't anticipate spending any more time reading than I did in the first half of the year. I've never taken classes over the summer before (except for one... Continue Reading →

Wrapping Up May 2021

My summer classes begin tomorrow, as does my library's Summer Reading program. I'm looking forward to both; it has been very nice to catch up a bit over the past few weeks, though. Mom and I even went to the zoo last week, just because! Today in the real world I will be waxing my car, grocery shopping, and finishing up a few things that need to be wrapped up before classes restart. Here on the blog, I'm wrapping up all of my reading & related activities from the month of May!
