A Few of My Favorite Summer Things {2021}

Happy Wednesday! Today's post isn't entirely bookish. I will talk about a few of my favorite books that I read this summer, but mostly this post is to share a list of the things that made this summer good. It can be easy to get caught up in the hard or disheartening things, and I... Continue Reading →

Top 5s From My First 500 Posts

Happy Monday, Readers! WordPress has informed me that Saturday's post was my 500th post on this blog. It's hard to believe that in approximately three and a half years I've made 500 posts. To commemorate, I'd like to share a few highlights with you. 500 highlights would be a bit much, so below are 5... Continue Reading →

Tackling the TBR #27

My TBR (to be read) list has gotten nearly out of hand. Therefore, I have decided to do a post featuring ten books from it approximately every other week. As I go through the list, I will evaluate each book and decide whether or not it still belongs. Who knows, perhaps as my list (hopefully) shrinks, you will find a few books to add to your own!

Tackling the TBR #26

My TBR (to be read) list has gotten nearly out of hand. Therefore, I have decided to do a post featuring ten books from it approximately every week. Tackling the TBR #25

The amount of books on my TBR (to be read) list has gotten nearly out of hand. To address this, I write a post featuring ten books from it approximately once a week. As I go through the list, I will evaluate each book and decide whether or not it still belongs. Perhaps as my list (hopefully) shrinks, you will find a few books to add to your own!

Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag

July in Oklahoma doesn't usually come with high humidity. But this is 2021, so just about anything that can happen apparently will, including humidity levels so high that even indoors it is having an impact on our books. I'm pretty sure that in June we got more rain than every other June of my life combined, and even though the temperatures are finally climbing close to their normal range for this time of year, we are not as dry as usual. If the northwest would like to send the 100+ temperatures back down to us, I wouldn't be opposed as long as it moved the humidity along and made the air feel less heavy.

First Line Friday // July 2, 2021

Happy first Friday of July! Being the first Friday of the month, I'm linking today's post to First Line Friday by Hoarding Books. Usually in July I feature a book by Sarah Sundin because her books just scream "America!" to me. However, I've recently stumbled across the most fascinating little book which I am pretty sure will be a defining feature of this month for me, and I want to talk about it with anyone who will listen! So, instead of a comfortable historical fiction/Christian romance book, today I'm featuring a fantasy (I think?) book that has me outside of my typical comfort zone, and yet somehow feels a little like home.

Summer Reading Challenge is Almost Here!

May is drawing to a close, which means the season is changing and summer is starting to creep in. I am glad to be just about through the stormiest time of the year, but there is something even bigger to look forward to June: the local library's Summer Reading program runs June 1 - July 31!
