First Line Friday Featuring: Wildlife According to Og the Frog

Happy Friday and first day of October! If you're viewing this post in your email or the WordPress Reader, I hope you'll stop by the blog itself at least briefly to see the seasonal banner I put up. I had a lot of fun making a handful of seasonal banners last year during some of... Continue Reading →

First Line Friday Featuring: A Dog Like Daisy

Someone mentioned that as of September 1, the "meteorological summer" was over. That led me on a fun Google rabbit trail of the difference between meteorological and astrological seasons, but it doesn't change the fact that here in Oklahoma the temperature is still well into the 90's and the heat index is over 100 nearly... First Line Friday // July 2, 2021

Happy first Friday of July! Being the first Friday of the month, I'm linking today's post to First Line Friday by Hoarding Books. Usually in July I feature a book by Sarah Sundin because her books just scream "America!" to me. However, I've recently stumbled across the most fascinating little book which I am pretty sure will be a defining feature of this month for me, and I want to talk about it with anyone who will listen! So, instead of a comfortable historical fiction/Christian romance book, today I'm featuring a fantasy (I think?) book that has me outside of my typical comfort zone, and yet somehow feels a little like home.

First Line Friday Featuring: Meg & Jo by Virginia Kantra

I have an exciting book to share with you today! If you saw my June TBR & Goals post or if you've followed Reviews From the Stacks for a few years, you may know that June is time for the Louisa May Alcott Reading Challenge hosted by Tarissa of In the Bookcase and that I love this month-long reading challenge! There are so many good books by, about, or otherwise related to Louisa May Alcott. This challenge is the perfect push to read them for myself and a way to read about similar books that others are reading and enjoying (or not enjoying).

First Line Friday & New Release Spotlight: Discernment by Lauren H. Salisbury

Today is the first Friday in June, so it's time to participate in First Line Friday! This edition is extra fun because the book I'm highlighting is a new release I'm excited about: book 3 in Lauren Salisbury's Legacy Chronicles series. Because my summer classes also started this week, I haven't started reading this book yet, but I hope to soon! It's going to be high on my Summer TBR list, at least.

First Line Friday May 21, 2021 Featuring: Hope in the Time of Fear by Timothy Keller

Good Friday morning, Reader! It's crazy what a solid week of good sleep can do for you. Getting up in the morning is so much easier when I don't stay up late working on homework (or stressing about the outcome), and somehow it's so much easier to stay calm and upbeat throughout the day when...
