Today is Christmas. We've waited, counted the days, planned, baked, wrapped, mailed, and done a hundred other things to prepare for this day. Now, it's finally time to bask in the glory of this wondrous occasion! But, what IS this occasion?
Merry Christmas Eve, Readers! I can hardly believe it's here. As I'm sure you've realized, I love this season very much. All of the anticipation, planning, waiting, and work culminates in the celebrations we hold today and tomorrow (or, for some, through the weekend). As this is a very special time, I decided to do... Today is Day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas! When I started participating in this blog party, I wasn't sure if I would keep up with posting every day - and now here we are in the home stretch! I work like normal today (although I expect it to be fairly crazy), but then I have four days off work to celebrate and relax. I am looking forward to it so very much!
I recently saw another blogger do this kind of post, and for the life of me I now can't figure out who it was! Basically, you share images of the covers of different editions of books and say which one you like best. Since Christmas books tend to have some of the most beautiful covers, I thought it would be fun to see so many cozy covers in one post!
Happy first day of winter! Usually, Oklahoma is a little slow on the uptake about season changes, but this year we got winter early (and I am not complaining). It has definitely helped me get into the Christmas spirit.
Welcome to day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas! I keep seeing people talking about how different this year is, how the Christmas season is ruined this year, and endless discussions of general disappointment. This is completely understandable, but today I want to talk about some Christmas traditions that are not ruined this year. Honestly, I think most things that are truly Christmas-oriented are manageable even in a year as crazy as this, some just take some adapting. But I digress. I hope that this post is an encouragement to you, and that it might remind you of something fun that you can do this season despite everything going on. I tried to keep this to things that are free or inexpensive so that everything is accessible to anyone.
If you're like me, wrapping gifts is the perfect time to put on a Christmas movie, make a warm cup of cocoa/coffee/cider/etc, and get to work! There are a few Christmas movies that I enjoy watching every year, and I want to share about these with you today. Most of them are classics, but you might be surprised by what sneaks into my Top 5 List.
Today is day 4 of the 12 Days of Christmas blog party, and to start off I am going to share with you some recent dialogue I had with myself: Write about Christmas music," I thought. "There's so much good music, it will be easy!
This is a busy day for blogging! This post will be linked up with Faith for the 12 Days of Christmas blog party and Tarissa for #ALiteraryChristmas, and I will have a separate post linking up to this week's WWW Wednesday. It's a snowstorm of posts about good books!
In case you're counting, there are now 11 days until Christmas! Are you close to ready? I have bought everything that I need to, decorated my apartment, helped my parents decorate their house, and made...four Christmas music playlists, so I'm in good shape! There are still several things to be done, but I think I will able to accomplish everything at an enjoyable pace.
