Mini Book Review: Irrepressible Reformer by Wayne A. Wiegand

Happy Friday! This is going to be a somewhat strange weekend for me, as I am off work today, do work tomorrow, and then have Sunday off like normal plus Monday for Memorial Day. I hope to get some last-minute reading and planning done, as my summer classes start on Tuesday. Today I'm sharing a... Continue Reading →

Book Review: Eubeltic Quest by Nadine C. Keels

Happy Friday! The main story where I am has been the weather - we've been close to record lows! There has been snow, ice, and negative wind chills. None of those things are weather that I am used to! Thankfully, my work has been responsible with adjusting our operating hours so that staff can travel... Continue Reading →

Book Review: The Common Rule by Justin Whitmel Earley

Happy Friday! Somehow this week feels longer than some, even though Monday was a holiday. My school started back up (all online for now) on Wednesday, and we've certainly hit the ground running. Four classes while working full time is going to be a lot of work! The material looks interesting though, so I'm sure... Continue Reading →

Book Review: Where’d You Go, Bernadette by Maria Semple

It's finally time for my first full book review of the year, featuring the last book I read in 2020! To be honest, I only read Where'd You Go, Bernadette because I heard part of it was set on Antarctica and I still hadn't marked that continent off my reading challenge. Also, since I knew... Christmas Mini Book Review: The Christmas Cat by Melody Carlson

Happy first day of winter! Usually, Oklahoma is a little slow on the uptake about season changes, but this year we got winter early (and I am not complaining). It has definitely helped me get into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Book Review: The Bridge by Karen Kingsbury – 12 Days of Christmas Day 5

FIVE GOLDEN RINGS!!!!! Really, is there any other way to start a post on day 5 of the 12 Days of Christmas? Today I'm sharing another Christmas book review, and this one falls today because of its beautiful glowing cover. It features an abundance of Christmas lights and a cozy golden glow spilling out from... Continue Reading →

Christmas Book Review: Yesterday’s Christmas by A.M. Heath // 12 Days of Christmas 2020 Day 3

This is a busy day for blogging! This post will be linked up with Faith for the 12 Days of Christmas blog party and Tarissa for #ALiteraryChristmas, and I will have a separate post linking up to this week's WWW Wednesday. It's a snowstorm of posts about good books!

Book Review: Faithful in Love by Cecily K. Wolfe

Happy Friday! Today's review is by one of my favorite indie historical fiction authors. This story is sweet and heartwarming, but has a bit of grit to it, too. The characters, setting, and themes are so well done that they are almost tangible. You're going to want to add this one to your reading list for when life has you down, injustice seems rampant, and you just need something safe and cheerful to read.

Book Review: A Girl’s Guide to the Outback by Jessica Kate

Happy Friday! Today's book review is a complicated one. I really, truly wanted to like this one, but it is rather problematic. If you're looking for a slow ease into Christmas reading, this might be a book to consider, as it is set around Christmas but really doesn't have anything to do with the holiday. The big draw to me was the setting - Australia! Read on for my full thoughts.

Happy Release Day, Fifteen!

Congratulations on publishing your poetry book, Amie! This book is so beautiful, heartfelt, raw, and empowering. I can't wait to see the impact it has.
