New Release Spotlight: Stellarlune by Shannon Messenger

Happy release day to book NINE in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, Stellarlune!! This series came into my life in the midst of COVID quarantine and reminded me what it was like to fall head-over-heels in love with a set of characters to the point that I became invested enough in their story to hang on through more than a handful of books. I’m usually happy for a series to wrap up as a trilogy, but this middle-grade fantasy series is different. It’s fun and exciting and easy to read (and even better to listen to). Basically, go read this post where I talk about my top 5 reasons for enjoying the first book, and multiply that for each subsequent book. Then come back here and celebrate this latest release!

About The Book

Title: Stellarlune (Keeper of the Lost Cities #9)

Author: Shannon Messenger

Genre: Middle Grade Fantasy

Synopsis: Sophie Foster changed the game.

Now she’s facing impossible choices:
When to act.
When to trust.
When to let go.

Her friends are divided and scattered, and the Black Swan wants Sophie to focus on their projects. But her instincts are leading her somewhere else.

Stellarlune—and the mysterious Elysian—might be the key to everything. But finding truth in the Lost Cities always requires sacrifice. And as the Neverseen’s plans sharpen into terrifying focus, it appears that everyone has miscalculated. The Lost Cities’ greatest lie could destroy everything. And in the battle that follows, only one thing is certain: nothing will ever be the same.

Even though this is a middle grade series marketed toward preteens and young teens, I’m thoroughly invested in the story and look forward to diving in! Since I am already currently reading a handful of books that I’m really enjoying (including Marmee by Sarah Miller, The Lady in Residence by Allison Pittman, and Delete That by John Crist), this one will likely have to wait a few weeks before I actually start reading it, but that in now way lessens my excitement.

Has a new book come out recently that you are extra excited about? Do you enjoy series that continue for more than a few books?

Until the next chapter,

Jana
