WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for the following questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? To participate, make a post or comment answering the three questions, link up to the host (Sam)’s post, and check out what others are reading and talking about! I typically participate once a month, approximately in the middle of the month, as a halfway check-in on my monthly reading goals.
What Am I Currently Reading?
📚 The Flip Side by Shawn Johnson YA Contemporary Fiction
📚 Crescendo: The Story of a Musical Genius Who Forever Changed a Southern Town by Allen Cheney and Julie Cantrell Nonfiction, Biography
What Did I Recently Finish Reading?
📚 Ruff and Tumble by Lucy Gilmore Contemporary Romance – DNF around 30% due to content
I knew going into this book that, while the synopsis read like a Hallmark plot, it would probably be “spicier” (to use the language of the day) than what I usually read. I was prepared for that. I was not prepared for paragraphs discussing the taste of beer, multiple conversations about births, and overly-detailed descriptions of characters noticing other people who they have no business paying that much attention to. Ultimately, it’s not my cup of tea.
📚 Clara’s Kitchen by Clara & Christopher Cannuciari Nonfiction, Memoir & Cookbook ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 Joyful Sorrow by Julie Busler Nonfiction ⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 The Many Lives of Pusheen the Cat by Claire Belton Comic Collection ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
📚 Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Eliot Poetry ⭐⭐⭐⭐
What Might I Read Next?
📚 First Frost (Waverly Family #2) by Sarah Addison Allen Contemporary/Magical Realism
📚 Until Leaves Fall in Paris by Sarah Sundin Historical Fiction, Clean Romance
📚 The Dressmaker’s Secret by Kellyn Roth – Historical Fiction
I’m so glad that I actually have several books in the “recently finished” section this time! It’s been a while.
What books are in your sphere this week?
Until the next chapter,
Jana
The First Frost was a good one. I have The Dressmaker’s Secret on my list as well. Enjoy your reads 🙂

I’ve read First Frost before and loved it! I always think about rereading it this time of year, but it’s been a few since I followed through. And I’m really looking forward to The Dressmaker’s Secret. Happy Reading!

Apart from the first book that you DNF, it looks like you enjoyed the other books. Your reading next list sounds good 🙂
Have a great week!
