Hello and welcome back, Reader! Today’s post is linking up with Sam at Taking on a World of Words for WWW Wednesday to talk about the books that are at the front of my mind this week. Even though summer classes are in full swing, the fact that I am only taking two this time (compared to the four of spring semester) means that I am actually able to find a little time to read whatever I want in addition to completing schoolwork. It also means I have more time to spend per class, and since the concepts in each are (at least so far) easy to grasp, this session is thus far much more enjoyable than the last! Don’t get me wrong, for the most part I liked the classes I took last spring, but I didn’t always enjoy them.
I’ve also picked back up an old hobby this month: making string bracelets. When I was in elementary school or junior high I would’ve called these “friendship bracelets” and obsessed over picking all of my friends’ favorite colors for them, but these days I’m just tying together whatever I can easily get my hands on while listening to lectures. Since my cataloging class is extremely redundant (the same content is covered in video lectures, the textbook, and other resources and exercises), having something to keep my hands busy helps my mind stay focused. And, surprisingly, I still have a few patterns in my muscle memory. I’m enjoying it so much that a few days ago I found myself thinking “if only I could read without having to hold the book in my hands, so I could make bracelets while reading as well,” and then I realized – audiobooks exist! I haven’t checked any out recently and I haven’t decided if I’m going to, but it would be interesting to try and see if I could keep up with the story the same way I can keep up with my lectures.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for the following questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? To participate, make a post or comment answering the three questions, link up to the host (Sam)’s post, and check out what others are reading and talking about! I typically participate once a month, approximately in the middle of the month, as a halfway check-in on my monthly reading goals.

I was a bit disappointed with The Blue Castle, but at least now I’ve read it. I think you should know in the first few chapters if it’s going to be your cup of tea.
