I saw this fun book tag on Katie’s Cottage Books, and I believe it was created by Write On Cordy. This looks like a perfect activity for a frigid, snowy, stay-inside-and-read kind of day! It snowed all day yesterday, and it is all actually sticking. Grab a warm cup and join me in contemplating these literary questions!
Would you rather be a tenant of Mr. Darcy or Mr. Knightley?
Definitely Mr. Knightley. He would be much easier to get along with (and I’m rather partial to Emma over Pride and Prejudice).
Would you rather spend a day in the Hundred Acre Woods or Neverland?
Hundred Acre Woods without a doubt. I’ll take safety and relaxation over adventure with this one!
Would you rather attend a tea party with the Mad Hatter or meet the Wizard of Oz?
Meet the Wizard of Oz. I’ve never been a big fan of Wonderland or anyone from it.
Would you rather spend a summer at Netherfield with Jane and Mr. Bingley or at Hamley Hall with Squire Hamley?
Netherfield, because I have not read Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskill and know nothing about Hamley Hall or Squire Hamley!
Would you rather be “rescued” by Gilbert Blythe or Colonel Brandon?
Gilbert Blythe. Again, I haven’t read Sense and Sensibility so I don’t know anything about Colonel Brandon. It would be very hard for him to surpass Gilbert Blythe in my opinion anyways, though.
Would you rather marry Laurie or John Brooke?
I feel like Laurie gets so much more attention than John that this question almost isn’t fair. Of course I’m going to go with the one who I know more about.
Would you rather have to participate in a skirmish as a member of Robin Hood’s merry men, or as a member of the Musketeers?
I’d rather join Robin Hood because 1) he has a better reputation and 2) this is another unbalanced question because I have never read or seen an adaptation of The Three Musketeers.
Would you rather have a jolly holiday in a chalk painting or enjoy a tea party on the ceiling with Uncle Albert?
Okay, this is the most difficult one so far! I think I would rather explore a chalk painting because I want to meet talking animals. But the tea party with Uncle Albert would be so much fun, too!
Would you rather have to chaperone, through their entire courting experience Lydia Bennett or Anne De Bourgh?
Does Anne de Bourgh even court? As a side character, I really can’t remember if she has any suitors. Lydia Bennett would certainly be a handful but she’s a fun character, so I’ll go with her.
Would rather marry Mr. Wickham or Mr. Elton?
Would you rather spend the rest of your life in Middle Earth (starting from the time of the ring), or Narnia (starting from the time of the Pevensie’s first visit)?
Narnia, no questions asked.
How would you answer these “would you rather” questions? How many do we agree on?
The Spell the Month in Books linkup opened Saturday – if you write a Spell the Month post in February, you can add your post here and see how other bloggers met the challenge this month.
I hope you stay safe, warm, and healthy!
Until the next chapter,
