Unraveled Wednesday {5.20.2020}

Today I’m linking up with As Kat Knits for Unraveled Wednesday!

Unraveled Wednesdayย is a linkup hosted by As Kat Knits highlighting current projects, books weโ€™re reading, and relevant yarn industry news/info/discussions.

With work starting back up, I haven’t had quite as much time to do crafty things this month as I have in the past two. However, I’ve knit up a few coasters and mug cozies. Since they are small, short projects, as long as I accurately count my rows there is no real danger of needing to unravel and redo anything. For the moment, I’m trying to use up more of my scrap yarn so that I can organize my knitting things a bit better.

Reading:

32920979. sy475 Out of the Blue: New Short Fiction From Iceland (edited by Helen Mitsios) is definitely an experience to read. I think I’m learning a little about the people of Iceland, although I’m sure there is also a lot going entirely over my head. I can’t say that the stories are fun, or that I enjoy them for their own sake, but taken together as a picture of a land and culture that I know very little about, they are interesting and worth the read.

42774299. sy475 I’m listening to the second book in the Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger, Exile, during my daily commute. This book didn’t take as long as the first one to get to the main action, which I appreciate. I’m still loving the characters and learning more about Sophie’s world just as much as I did in the first book (which you can read some of my thoughts on here).

That’s all for me this time around! There isn’t a ton going on with either of these fronts, but there is enough to keep me busy. With my state moving into Phase 2 of re-opening, there are plenty of other things keeping my mind occupied besides books and knitting!

What are you working on this week?

Until the next chapter,

Jana
