Hello, Readers! Today I’m linking up with Kat of As Kat Knits for Unraveled Wednesday!
How are you guys doing with the whole social distancing thing? Are you hanging in there? I thought I was reverting to my fully-introverted self at the end of week one (for me at least), but then I realized that I have dramatically increased the number and variety of podcasts that I listen to, posted more here on my blog, and chimed in on multiple group chats more often than I usually would, so…maybe I’m just adapting? I honestly don’t know where I fall on the introverted/extroverted scale anymore. It really doesn’t matter anyways, but I find it interesting when random things like this are brought up in the midst of all the unrelated chaos!
Unraveled Wednesday is a linkup hosted by As Kat Knits highlighting current projects, books we’re reading, and relevant yarn industry news/info/discussions.
Knitting:
I’ve been working on my {semi-secret} knitting project for about two months now, and it is so much fun! The pattern is simple, with no cables or round sections, thankfully! This makes it easy to pick up while watching TV or listening to a podcast. I had actually hoped to be finished by this time, given the extra time off from work last week and this week, but alas so many other things jumped out at me to take advantage of the time off that knitting has not been my top priority! Still, I am pretty close to being done with it. Crossing my fingers to be completed by next week’s Yarn Along linkup.
Reading:
I finished three books last week: Calling From the Sky by Michael Copple, which I plan to review on Friday; Evangeline by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow; and The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom. I’m glad I finally made it through Evangeline, but I certainly understand why it was so difficult to understand the first time I tried to read it several years ago! The Hiding Place is truly a treasure. It is inspiring and relevant; even though the crises we face today are vastly different from those faced in World War 2, Corrie ten Boom’s response and faith are such an encouragement. I highly recommend reading this one if you’re struggling with seeing how anything good can come of something bad.
Are you enjoying working on your hobbies while stuck at home? If you’re looking for something to listen to while knitting, cleaning, or just breathing, I shared a playlist in yesterday’s post with some uplifting songs that I’m frequently keeping on as background noise.
And, is this time affecting your perception of yourself as introverted/extroverted, or drawing out any similar characteristics?
Until the next chapter,
Jana
Lovely post- your knitting looks very pretty indeed. Thanks for sharing.
