Welcome to another WWW Wednesday!

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for the following questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? To participate, make a post or comment answering the three questions, link up to the host (Sam)’s post, and check out what others are reading and talking about! I typically participate once a month, approximately in the middle of the month, as a halfway check-in on my monthly reading goals.

What Am I Currently Reading?

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell coverI might as well mention this one first: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. How many times do I have to say that I’m going to finish this book before it actually happens? I am finally getting close(ish). I can’t wait to finish this, but I wouldn’t DNF it for anything at this point!

20190507_084526Thankfully, The House of the Seven Gables by Nathaniel Hawthorne is going much quicker than Cloud Atlas. Unfortunately, it isn’t as interesting as I hoped, and I am nearly halfway through! I do like the writing style though, so maybe the story will pick up. I’m sticking with it, regardless.

Hearing God's Voice by Blackaby coverHearing God’s Voice by Henry and Richard Blackaby is a pretty self explanatory title. So far, it is a pleasant read on an interesting topic but not revolutionary. I am working through it slowly over breakfast.

Finding the Edge by Karen Chen coverFinding the Edge: My Life on the Ice by Karen Chen is such a gem! I am so glad that I randomly came across this audiobook at the library. My drive to work has become much less intense since I started listening to it!

What Did I Recently Finish?

Since my June Wrap-Up Post, the only thing I have finished is Baby Mine by Kellyn Roth. My family went fishing last weekend, but my licence has expired, so I went along and just took pictures and hung out. I also read this short story in less than an hour. Side note, reading by the lake is very pleasantly atmospheric. Baby Mine wasn’t really to my taste; it had its share of positive and negative aspects. I will probably talk more about it in a future post.

What Might I Read Next?

Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen coverNorthanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Other than that, I am not entirely sure, and I love the fact that I don’t know what will come next! I do still have a few ebooks/ARCs to read, but nothing with a close deadline. Maybe I’ll pick back up Jane Eyre, We Alcotts, or Cimarron. Or maybe (gasp!) I’ll walk through the stacks and read whatever catches my eye! More realistically, I need to take a look at where I stand on my reading goals for the year and pick something to tackle next from that list. I’m just hoping the next book I start doesn’t linger like Lisette’s List and Cloud Atlas.
