WWW Wednesday 6/12/2019

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for the following questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you’ll read next? To participate, make a post or comment answering the three questions, link up to the host (Sam)’s post, and check out what others are reading and talking about! I typically participate once a month, approximately in the middle of the month, as a halfway check-in on my monthly reading goals.

What Am I Currently Reading?

I am diving all in with the Louisa May Alcott Reading Challenge this month, and so far I am loving it! The books I chose are not going quite as quickly as I had hoped they would, but that’s just life. I am currently reading Rose In Bloom, Aunt Jo’s Scrap Bag, Cloud Atlas (yes, still), Strength, and Godology.

What Did I Finish Recently?

A few days ago I finished reading Alcott’s Flower Fables. I enjoyed the lighthearted fairy stories as a change of pace. The tone is especially appreciated given that I also recently finished The Nothing Within by Andy Giesler. You can read my review of The Nothing Within here. Towards the end of May I read Sarah Sundin’s The Sea Before Us and Amanda Dykes’ Up From the Sea (my review here). I didn’t mean to have a mini ocean theme, but I thoroughly enjoyed both books!

What will I Read Next?

I have Good Wives and We Alcotts lined up for the Louisa May Alcott challenge, but it’s looking iffy on whether I’ll get to both of them this month. Once I finish Cloud Atlas, I need to pick up Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The House of the Seven Gables. I have made a few preparations for the read-along I plan to host in October, but actually reading the book is still the biggest thing I need to do! I recently spent some of my desk hours at work reading 1-star reviews, and some are hilarious. It does make me wonder whether I have chosen a book that I will actually like, though. Thankfully there are still a few months before it really matters.

I usually have more to say about each book on my WWW Wednesday posts, so I’m sorry if you miss that this time around. There is so much going on this month, and I am sure I will talk about most (if not all) the books I am reading once I finish them. Keep an eye out for my next review, and if there is anything specific that you would like to hear more about, let me know!

Until the next chapter,

Jana
