Monday Mini Photo Drop 11/19/18

Hey y’all! Monday has come again, which means it is time for another photo drop with the pictures I took for #AllTheBooksNov18 this past week. Enjoy!filligree page divider

Here are the daily photo prompts for the month:

And here are this week’s pictures:

Nov 13 “Books & Apples”

So, I went to the kitchen, and realized that on the very day I was supposed to take apple-themed pictures, I had no apples. However, while ironically referencing to myself William Carlos Williams’ poem “This Is Just To Say,” I remembered this apple-shaped basket! It is the perfect size to hold the book I am currently reading (in this case Outcry), my kindle, and my current knitting project. It’s the perfect functional fall decoration!

Nov 14 “Book & Blanket”

I tried out a couple different blankets and settings before deciding how to pose this picture. This blanket might be the softest ever; it’s so luxurious! I think this book looks so cozy huddled in it.

Nov 15 “Next on Your TBR”

As mentioned in last week’s WWW Wednesday post, A Dream of Steam by James Barry is the next book I intend to start reading. However, I decided this before I went to my local Christian bookstore this weekend…but I think I’ll stick to it!

Nov 16 “Favorite Couple”

I love all of Sarah Sundin’s romances, but Lilian and Arch’s in Anchor in the Storm is my favorite! Each character is wonderful in their own right, and when they come together they are an incredible match!

Nov 17 “Fall Colored Book Spiral”

I have seen fancy, pretty book spirals online before, but I had never made one myself! I kind of assumed that they were only made by super artistic people with tons of time on their hands, but that wasn’t going to stop me from trying it out. It wasn’t quite as difficult as I expected, although the stack was relatively precarious, especially as it got taller. My favorite image is the top-down one, but I realize that doesn’t show the whole stack so I uploaded the side view as well for perspective.

Nov 18 “Book & Sweater”

Sometimes a prompt just clicks and I have an idea right away, and sometimes I don’t really get it or have inspiration based on it. This prompt was the latter. The book in both pictures is something I picked up at the last library book sale: Lisette’s List by Susan Vreeland. I haven’t read it yet, but I’m excited to get to it eventually! The first picture was difficult, but I used my auto-timer for the first time, and it turned out pretty well (if slightly awkward)! The second includes a large bookmark I knit a while ago, which has a sweater-ish pattern.

Nov 19 “Food on the Cover”

And this is my weekly picture using First Frost 😂. Honestly, I could not find another book I own that has food on the cover! filligree page divider

There you have it! I enjoyed this week’s pictures, even though I didn’t strive as much for diversity as in the past. The spiral was especially fun to create.

What is your favorite “book pose”? As always, if you have any tips you would like to share about photography in general or book photography specifically, I would love to hear them!

Until the next chapter,

Jana
