Today is the middle Wednesday of the month, which means it is time for a WWW Wednesday!
WWW Wednesday is a recurring post series currently hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
To participate, leave a comment on today’s post over at Taking on a World of Words with your responses, and check out the books everyone else is talking about! This series occurs every Wednesday, and I participate about once a month as a sort of midway check-in.
Currently reading: I started Lords of St. Thomas by Jackson Ellis yesterday, and it immediately sucked me in. So far it’s fascinating, and going quickly! This multi-generational tale explores the concept of imminent domain and family secrets. It’s pretty short, so it shouldn’t take long at all to finish reading it.
Recently Finished: A Million Worlds With You by Claudia Gray is the final book in her Firebird trilogy. I actually listened to the audiobook of this one, which is super rare for me. As with the initial two books in the trilogy (both of which I reviewed on my previous blog: #1 A Thousand Pieces of You and #2 Ten Thousand Skies Above You) there were aspects I did not like, most significantly the protagonist’s lack of a coherent conception of morality. Overall, the story is incredible. It is extremely unique, and I remain quite surprised that this trilogy is not more popular than it is. The writing is genius and the story simply epic; it is definitely worth consideration from any YA/adventure fan. Also, the covers of every book in the series are gorgeous, so if you’re someone who loves books because of their cover, just look at A Million Worlds With You!
Reading Next: This question is always the most difficult, because while I plan my reviews with a tentative monthly schedule, I allow some wiggle room for picking up whatever intrigues me next. I’ll soon be taking part in a blog tour for Beyond Her Calling by Kellyn Roth though, so it is most likely the next one I will start. However, Beyond Her Calling is book 4 in a series of which I have currently read…none. Oops. I’ve been hearing about this series for a while though, and it sounds wonderful! So I might grab the first in the series and try to read it quickly before reading this one. I don’t have time to read all three that are already out however, so we’ll see how it goes. This won’t be my first time reading a series out of order, and at least I know that I am doing so going into it this time.
There you have my current reading status! Be sure to head over to today’s post on Taking on a World of Words to see what some other bloggers are reading!
