WWW Wednesday: 15 August 2018

WWW Wednesday is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words. The three W’s stand for:

  • What are you currently reading?
  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

To participate, leave a comment on Taking on a World of Words and go blog hopping: check out the other bloggers who posted, and if you’re anything like me, your TBR list will soar!

I’m going to start trying to participate about once a month, probably in the middle of the month, as a fun way to maintain my momentum and keep my readers better informed.

The Unfinished ReformationCurrently Reading: Purely for personal education/interest, I started reading The Unfinished Reformation last week. Denominations within Christianity fascinate me, so I’m really enjoying learning about some of the key differences and similarities between Catholic and Protestant doctrine, as well as gaining a more thorough understanding of how they have interacted historically.

On Distant Shores by Sarah SundinRecently Finished: I finished On Distant Shores last night. As always, I am enamored by Sarah Sundin’s wonderful historical fiction skills, and I can’t wait to write a full review! For now, suffice it to say that the status of nursing or pharmacy as a profession in the army during World War II have never been topics I thought I would be interested in, but with a clean romance and theme of surrendering to God’s will even when it does not line up with our own, I am hooked.

The Alien Diaries by Glenn DevlinNext To Read: A definite change from the homey, comfortable historical fiction I’ve been reading a lot of recently, The Alien Diaries is up next on my reading list! I’m taking a dive back into science fiction for this one, and I am optimistic that it will be mysteriously entertaining. Ray Bradbury, Star Trek, and a few other good science fiction books have a galaxy-shaped place in my heart, and I am quite willing to make room for another good book set in space.

That’s it for my first edition of WWW Wednesday. Be sure to check out the original post on Taking on a World of Books for more reading suggestions and comment your own!
